- FaZe Clan recently benched coldzera from the active CS:GO roster following a string of miserable performances.
- As per multiple rumours and speculations, it seems olofmeister might be coldzera’s replacement on FaZe Clan.
- FaZe Clan had failed to make to the playoffs of every CS:GO tournament that they had participated in along with their recent lineup.
FaZe Clan has been going through a rough patch when it comes to competitive CS:GO, even after acquiring star players like Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken and Finn “karrigan” Andersen the team has failed to take off. FaZe Clan has failed to make it to the playoffs of 5 consecutive CS:GO tournaments since their new lineup was assembled, forcing the organization to bench their Brazilian rifler Marcelo ”coldzera” David. While changes had to be made and the community seemed to understand where this decision was coming from, rumours about Swedish legend Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer Gustafsson returning to FaZe Clan’s active CS:GO roster once again has taken many by surprise.
Olofmeister Might Return to FaZe Clan’s CS:GO Roster
Olofmeister has been away from the competitive CS:GO circuit for more than 3 months now, but it seems that the 29-year-old Swede is not done yet as rumours about his return to FaZe Clan has started doing the rounds within the CS:GO community.
This is because olofmeister was recently spotted practicing with FaZe Clan in place of coldzera, and just hours after this news was revealed to the community the Brazilian himself came forward to announce his departure from the team’s active roster. Not to forget the suspicious Tweet that that olofmeister had made just an hour after coldzera’s announcement.

If this is not enough, the fact that olofmeister had himself come forward to state that “I actually want to compete, I like competing too much,” barely a month back during a Twitch livestream, shows that FaZe Clan might be ready to take a chance with him joining the active roster once again.
As part of the same livestream olofmeister had said that his first choice would always be to compete professionally in CS:GO, but if no good offers came his way, he is willing to switch over and compete in Valorant. Well, if the rumours about him joining FaZe Clan turn out to be true then we may see the two time Major winner stay and compete in CS:GO itself.
Coldzera Gets Benched
There is no denying that FaZe Clan was in dire need of a change, considering the fact that the revamped roster had miserably failed to reach the playoffs of not even a single CS:GO tournament that they participated in. A shocking last place finish at the recently concluded Flashpoint Season 3 was the final nail in the coffin.
In his farewell statement coldzera stated that, “After the bootcamp with all the results that we had recently and because my time on faze is expiring soon I move to the bench to analyze new options for the future.”

After the bootcamp with all the results that we had recently and because my time on faze is expiring soon I move to the bench to analyse new options for the future. I would like to say thanks to faze and wish a gl for my teammates 👊
Having earned just 250 Points through the first European RMR tournament of the 2021 competitive circuit, FaZe Clan is in a really tough situation at the moment. The team has struggled hard for quite a long time now, the last big CS:GO tournament that they had won was IEM New York Online 2020: Europe in October last year.
It will be interesting to see if olofmeister actually turns up to play for FaZe Clan once again, as a replacement for coldzera or does the organization end up signing someone else. For now though, the FaZe Clan active CS:GO roster looks as follows,
