  • FaZe Clan signs Twistzz who replaces Kjaerbye on the team’s active CS:GO roster.
  • Twistzz had announced his departure from Team Liquid last year in December and has now joined FaZe Clan.
  • FaZe Clan might also sign Karrigan as a replacement for Olofmeister, once his contract with mousesports comes to an end.

The highly rumored move has finally come to fruition as FaZe Clan announces the signing of Canadian rifler Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken. He will be replacing the Danish entry fragger Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjaerbye on the active lineup.

The Danes who has been benched from the team’s active lineup is quite disappointed but at the same time respects the decision taken by FaZe Clan, wishing the team ]best of luck for the future. On the other hand, Twistzz is looking forward to being a part of FaZe Clan as he states that,

“The thing that I am most excited about this year is the ability to have a fresh new start in Counter-Strike, to have a new team, a new environment, a new organization around. I think it is a breath of fresh air for me.”

FaZe Clan signs Twistzz

Former Team Liquid rifler Twistzz had announced his departure from the North American organization in December last year due to multiple reasons such as,

  • The feeling of not being an integral part of the team.
  • The ability to not be able to play freely.
  • Some of his ideas being dismissed or turned down.

At the time, Twistzz had made a decision to play in Europe for the next few years and since then rumours had been going around that FaZe Clan were interested in picking him up. Finally, FaZe has come forward to officially announce the signing while simultaneously benching Kjaerbye from their active lineup.

FaZe Clan benches Kjaerbye

The Dane departs from FaZe Clan after a short stint of just five months which was rather disappointing, to say the least. During his time with Faze, the organization failed miserably except for a really surprising victory at IEM New York 2020: Europe which was a once in a blue moon victory.

Kjaerbye during his time with FaZe managed an overall rating of just 0.96 while having an impact of just 0.9, there was just no improvement over the months because of which FaZe had to take this decision.

While FaZe Clan might have completed their CS:GO lineup, for now. This is not the final form of their CS:GO roster which according to speculations will see another change in the next few months, like Finn ‘karrigan’ Andersen coming in place of Olof ‘olofmeister’ Kajbjer as the new in-game leader for the side.

In an interview with HLTV, Twistzz had said that “My goal is definitely to have a good in-game leader, that’s like a priority,” which further solidifies the report that Karrigan might be on his way to FaZe once his contract with mousesports expires.
